Le Cheval, Oakland

I really like this place. Hubby and I have been coming here for about 15 years now, and have never been disappointed. When we didn't feel like cooking, and wanted a no-fuss bite, this was where we came. Since we've moved, haven't come as often, but we still try to make it whenever possible.

Decor: Unfortunately haven't changed it much over the years, does need bit of an update. Nice, large, cavernous room, loud noise level. Large round white-tableclothed tables good for large parties.

Service: Inconsistent. Sometimes the friendliest, sometimes cool as can be, but never rude. Always very prompt.

Food: French Vietnamese. Consistent. Besides dishes pictured below, we enjoy the clay pot prawns (little oily, though), tofu, eggplant, curry chicken, imperial rolls. Thai iced tea is a odd shade of orange, but still good. Pics of my fav dishes fr last visit 11/17/07:

Singapore Noodles with Chicken

Cubed Beef Steak
